Trying new stuff: Armada, Cybertron & Energon

At least, I'll keep myself out of the series Armada and Cybertron. I was looking to watch something else than G1 and these were the first to enter my viewing area, scarring it forever. I saw the first episodes of the shows above and they suck. Big time.

Armada is way too much childish for me (I know, it's a kids' toon, but I enjoy cartoons in general, so..) and that's it. Little children would love it, but big older kids (20 something) like myself - no way.

Cybertron could be fun if it's not for those 3D-like renders which I despise. It's awful and it's runing the show. I found the plots (even the script-writing is better) not so numb, but those renders are giving me the creeps. I'll pass.

Energon... Well, Energon is something different. Not too childish, no 3D. It's pure anime and I love the look of it. I'll give this one a chance. The first impression was positive.

What smells fishy about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

I liked the Transformers movie from last years and I'm very excited about the sequel which is coming out next year. Here's the article from WorstPreviews.com:

TFW2005 has confirmed that Alice, played by Isabel Lucas in the upcoming "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," is a Pretender robot. Alice is an attractive girl who befriends Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) in college. Unfortunately, she is a Transformer hiding inside a human-shaped shell.

Here is how one source describes Alice: "In the case of Alice, the shell will be an attractive human woman while the inner robot is best described as a hybrid of the Frenzy robot design from the first movie. The Pretender Transformer will have an arm that transforms into an energy weapon, a long tongue, and a scanning tentacle."

Recently a set video, featuring a scene being shot in Princeton University, has appeared supporting the claim that Alice is a Pretender. Watch below as she walks calmly across the campus as students are rushing passed her in panic.

Pretenders is a subline within the Transformers toy line, introduced in 1988. The gimmick was that the Transformers were supposedly capable of disguising their robotic forms through the use of synthetic organic outer shells.

Episode of the day: "Heavy Metal War" (G1)

One of my favorite Transformers G1 episodes is the first season finale, "Heavy Metal War". It marks an appearance of one of the coolest Decepticons, the Devastator, combined by the Constructicons. I have a Devastator toy, I'll post some photos soon.

Check out the short info on the episode. In future I'll try to provide a link when you'll be able to watch the episodes.

A busy construction site is attacked by driver-less construction equipment, and several components are stolen. The construction vehicles return to Decepticon headquarters and are revealed to be the newly built Constructicons. The components they stole are parts to a machine that will allow Megatron to absorb the power chip rectifiers from his Decepticon warriors.

While the final preparations are completed on the machine, Megatron flies to Autobot headquarters and makes Optimus Prime an offer he can't refuse. Megatron offers the Autobot leader a one on one battle with the winner staying on Earth to do as he pleases, and the loser taking his army and exiling themselves to deep space. Prime, confident in his own abilities, accepts the challenge and sets the match.

25 Years of Transformers - New Smokescreen toy

I just saw this at Seibertron. There will be a new line of toys for the 25th anniversary of Transformers. I looks quite good and it comes in a deluxe pack. I'd really like to see how does the Optimus Prime toy looks like.

Here's Smokescreen packed.

Transformed...

... and rolled out.

Transform and roll out

Hello everybody!

This is my blog dedicated to one of the best things that TV had to offer to this day. My first experience with the Transformers was the old TV show made in the 80's, known as Transformers G1. I know it's a silly toy line commercial but it played a significant role in my childhood and it's a graceful part of my life.
