Transformers 2 trailer in February 2009

Michael Bay has confirmed in a post on his message board that the trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will hit in February, either in movie theaters or attached to the Superbowl. Bay also says that theatrical teaser posters will hit shortly after the new year. The Bay-produced Friday the 13th remake hits theaters on February 13th 2009, but that seems like a really odd fit for the teaser:

"Hey everyone. Back from Egypt and Jordan - we had a wonderful shoot over there. I will miss the crew they were an amazing bunch of people and a lot of fun. I’m stuck in the edit room up to my eye balls - also finished producing Friday the 13th and The Unborn - coming out the after the new year. Our Trailer for Transformer you have been asking about - First there will be a teaser poster soon after the new year, and the teaser trailer will be out either in the theaters early Feb. or on the Superbowl. Cannot decide yet. I’m going to release some set stills on this site in a few weeks. I’ll keep you informed. Going back to do more selects now from my portable avid that I take home from work. It’s late, see you."

Transformers producer Don Murphy has also commented on his message board saying that they are planning to hold off on the big marketing push the film until the final stretch.

“We’re kind of trying to follow the PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN model, that is, no publicity for as long as possible, since the sequel will have enormous attention no matter what we do.”

Episode of the day: "Enter the Nightbird" (G1)

I enjoy the second season more than the first. Nevertheless, season one has also great episodes. So, this is the tenth episode of the second season, called "Enter the Nightbird". It introduces a female ninja robot made by a Japanese (who else?) scientist, which the Decepticons are about to steal and use it for their own evil purpose.

Here's the short info:

The Autobots attend the unveiling of Nightbird, a human-built “female ninja robot,” by invitation from the robot’s creator, Dr. Fujiyama. Predictably, the Decepticons attack and immediately have the upper hand because the Autobots won’t fight in a hall crowded with humans. Starscream and the other Seekers steal the robot, and the other Decepticons take off.

Apologetic for their abject failure to protect the robot, Optimus promises to return it back to Dr. Fujiyama quickly and unharmed.

The Transformers: Infiltration (comics)

Couple of weeks ago, I came across this wonderful comic, (ran from October 2005 to the summer of 2006) set in the re-booted Transformers G1 universe of IDW Publishing. I like everything about it. The writing is great, maybe it has too much 'techno-babble', but it's bearable and understandable. It's important to say that is aimed for more older audience which is definitely to be praised.

We have all the known characters, set in a Earth where they're trying to hide from the humans using holographic drives when in Autobot form. But, due to a tricky circumstances, a band of human teenagers gets involved in the neverending battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

This wonderfull mini-serie is made of a six issues, which reperesents a beginning of a saga that continues with few more mini-series. About the rest, in near future. It's also important to mention that The Transformers: Infiltration is written by a long-time Transformers fan and writer - Simon Furman.

Highly recommended for Transformers and comic book fans!
